So, when could you do that?
Late night study
In Week 10 and 11, the libraries continue their regular weekday hours, with Caulfield open until 12 midnight, Matheson open until 12 midnight on Monday to Thursday, and Hargrave-Andrew open until 10pm.
From Week 12 through Swot Vac and the first two weeks of exams, the Matheson Library offers extended study time until 2am (Monday-Thursday). A security bus will operate until 2.30am on the nights when there is late opening.
The late opening period for study is now starting earlier, in Week 12 when final assignments are due. The extended hours for study apply between Monday 15 October and Thursday 8 November. In the final week of the exams, the opening hours will revert to the regular 12 midnight close, as many students have finished and the demand is reduced.
Weekend hours
Many students work, have children at home or have commitments so that the weekends are the only times that they are able to set themselves up for studying at a library. Check this list of weekend hours to see if there is a suitable time or location for you.
- Matheson Library, Clayton - Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm (9am to 6pm from 13 October)
- Caulfield Library - Saturday and Sunday 8am to 9pm (all semester)
- Hargrave-Andrew and Law libraries, Clayton - Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 5pm (10am to 5pm from 13 October)
- Peninsula Library – Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 5pm (all semester)
Library facilities
The new libraries (Caulfield and Matheson) offer comfortable state of the art study facilities which we hope that students enjoy, including bookable discussion rooms where students can work along with their friends or study-mates.
