BenchTV - a benchmark production

Did you know Monash University Library has a subscription to BenchTV?

BenchTV comprises a growing collection of over 400 videos discussing current legal issues in Australia.

Featuring high profile legal professionals, the training videos are of particular interest to lawyers and law students needing to keep up to date with legal cases drawn down from the superior courts in Australia.

BenchTV is also an extremely useful resource for non-law students who have an interest in current legal issues.

Widely used for continuing professional development, the video content covers a large number of key areas including ethics, business skills, environmental law, professional skills, human rights, family law, contracts and criminal law.

Each video runs from 20 – 50 minutes in duration and includes a legal paper and follow-up quiz.

Recent examples of topics covered include “The ice epidemic”, “Artificial intelligence – the future of the legal profession” and “Legal and ethical issues with genomic testing”.

You can also select to sign up to a free email newsletter which contains summaries of the most important recent decisions of the superior courts around Australia, published daily and weekly in a number of areas including civil, criminal, insurance, banking and construction law. This is all available to both staff and students.
