Ensure you find the best available information about a clinical question by using the Embase database, says Pharmacy Subject Librarian, Madeleine Bruwer.
The Embase database provides access to biomedical literature as well as extensive coverage of allied health. Embase is particularly strong in its coverage of drugs, pharmacology and medical devices. Embase content is accessible via two platforms: Ovid and Elsevier.

The dedicated PICO form assists in constructing a query utilising these four PICO elements.
Select PICO from the Quick Search menu.

To start constructing your PICO search, enter your search term under find the best term. The Emtree hierarchy will display and suggest Emtree terms, making it easy to select the most appropriate term.
